The beetle was big, black, and very juicy. Peat sitting in the scorching sun, stared at it while absentmindedly shaking her empty waterbottle.

It crawled across the rocks, poking its head into little holes it might find food. As minutes passed and it still found nothing, it turned to Peat and began pouting like a dog.

Little Peat Sitting put down all her knitting, and shrugged at the bug disguised as a pug, saying "rofl, im sorry, ive just got this bottle".

ThroughMyEyes

Disgusted at Peat, the pug bug scuttled over and began to nip softly at Sitting's foot. Peat crinkled her nose at the sensation and removed her shoe.

BusyCityGirl

"Look base, I don't know what you guys were thinking over there, but having a pug bug for a partner on this mission is not working." Peat grumbled into the hidden mic in her shoe. "I'm baking in the sun too. Can I just deploy plan B already?"

EveryOpenEye

"Deal with it Agent Sitting, you have a mission, and no, I'm not giving the audience any exposition, that's someone else's job," snapped back an indistinct voice from the other end. "You want plan B? Here you go!" Peat snarled, before picking up the pug bug and throwing it high into the air.

"Holy sweet golly goodness!! Why did I ever take this job?! Why did I let them recruit me?! No amount of tax-free salary is worth this!" yelled the poor pug bug as it spun back down to earth. "Agent Sitting, please.." came the indistinct voice of Beeseejie Standing from the other end of the shoe phone once more.

ThroughMyEyes

Beyond stressed, Peat flung the shoe phone into the river and rubbed her temples for a solid minute before realizing what she had done. Her socked foot exposed to the wretched heat, Peat looked up to see the pug bug slowly chasing after the shoe phone.

BusyCityGirl

It returned 7 minutes later, lugging the soaked, sputtering, shorted out shoe behind it. Rising to her feet, Peat mumbled, "Well thanks. You play fetch well. You know though that water is toxic right? That's why we're here and I'm hot. Come on, without Agent Standing to boss me, I'm calling it for plan B."

They walked for seventeen and a half days straight, feeding on sand and the occasional scorpion, and drinking from dangerous and often toxic water sources - between them, they grew five extra limbs along their journey. As the sun rose on the final night, they stumbled over the crest of a dune and found their destination - the lair of the great lumberjack Alemas.

After munching on the last of their surgically removed extra limbs due to running out of sand and scorpions, they heard a glorious manly whistling sound emanating from the nearby forest, followed by a rhythmic "thwack!" noise. They realized they were finally approaching their destination, and hurried along in their stride.

ThroughMyEyes

As the distinct "thwack!" noise grew louder, Pug Bug glanced at Sitting with twenty of his twenty-one eyes. Simultaneously they nodded at each other before quickly diving behind a tree whose roots opened into a small hollow.

BusyCityGirl

Knowing Alemas wouldn't talk business while he was working, they waited in the musty hollow till nightfall. When the rythmic thwacking stopped, Peat tucked away her knitting and awoke the napping pug bug.

As the moonlight filtered through the wavering treetops, Sitting carefully made her way through the trees, looking for the Alemas' residence. As she rounded a tree, she found a grand clearing, filled with dozens of fallen trees, apparently dragged there completely intact single-handedly by the great lumberjack.

"Alemassssss!". Peat's words echoed through the quiet moonlit forest. "Alemas, my name is Peat Sitting, you probably don't know me, but in Hollywood I was a famous actor named Chris Pratt. I'm part of SHAA, the Struggling Hollywood Actors Agency." The forest remained silent, so Peat continued. "I have a role opportunity coming up as a lonely mysterious lumberjack type... I could really use your guidance right now".

ThroughMyEyes

The agent's voice wavered in the air, words tossed blindly into the foggy darkness hoping to elicit a response from the man, the myth, the legend-wait-for-it-dary Ale. Hearing nothing but crickets, Peat turned away, saddened, but as her gaze fell upon Pug Bug, he froze like a deer in headlights, finger removed from her phone that was playing a crickets app.
